Lewis Hazeldine

Lewis Hazeldine joined Mortons as a paralegal in 2022. He is an aspiring Criminal Barrister.

His current role involves case preparation and client liaison for all cases, with a focus on the crown court, including appeals.

Lewis has worked on some of our most complex and demanding crown court cases.

These include (amongst others) a historic child sex trafficking ring, death by dangerous driving, and conspiracy to commit armed robberies.

Lewis is level-headed, diligent, and able to undertake detailed analysis of evidence. He works with barristers and instructs experts and thus forms part of a formidable defence team.

Lewis became interested in Criminal Law during his A level studies. He went on to university, graduating with an Upper Second-class degree, with a first-class dissertation specialising in Sexual Offences.

Lewis then went on to study an LLM at the University of Manchester, where he graduated second in the year.

More recently, Lewis was called to the Bar by Middle Temple, after successfully completely the Bar Practice Course with Distinction. During this time, he volunteered at Support Through Court, providing emotional and practical support to litigants in person.

During his studies, Lewis took part in pro-bono work for Streetlaw UK, delivering presentations and educating secondary school children about pathways in law and diversity in the profession.

Lewis is now working towards his Police Station Accreditation, to be able to advise clients from the earliest stages, right through to Crown Court trials.
